Medical Research Library

Patient getting blood drawn.

The Department of Defense (DoD) created this library of government-sponsored research to help military personnel, veterans, families, and the public learn about research efforts into health concerns related to service during deployments. This web site also provides scientists and medical professionals information about initiatives and findings in deployment health-related research.

This library’s roots are found in the Medsearch web site dedicated to government-sponsored research into the illnesses of Gulf War veterans. DeployMed is a more expansive source of information about military deployments in general, to include the Gulf War of 1991.

Research Topics is the section of DeployMed that describes specific research projects funded by the federal government. This section has been updated to reflect all projects funded through fiscal year 2003.

Reports is the section of DeployMed that lists reports on the efforts of a variety of organizations to record, investigate, research, and explain the occurrence of illnesses among deployed military personnel and veterans.

Search is an alternate way to find information about a specific subject. The Search tool is at the upper right of every page in DeployMed.

This service is brought to you by the DoD Deployment Health Support Directorate, an organization aligned under the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs..
