Location and Directions Fort Lee is located three miles east of Petersburg on Highway Route 36. Access to Fort Lee without a Department of the Defense sticker is now restricted to one gate. To obtain a temporary post vehicle pass, you will need to provide a valid registration for your vehicle, proof of insurance, and a valid drivers license. From Interstate 95: Take the Temple Avenue exit, continue on Temple Avenue past the Southpark Shopping Mall for about three miles. Temple avenue will end at Highway 36 directly across from Fort Lee's Sisisky Gate. If you need a vehicle pass, take a right onto Highway 36 and drive about a mile to the Lee Avenue gate (next stoplight). At the light, take a left and pull into the right lane. The Fort Lee Visitors' Center will be on the right hand side. From Interstate 295: Take the 9B exit onto Highway Route 36. If traveling from the south on either Interstate 85 or 95, exit at Fort Lee-Hopewell Exit 53 turn-off and take Highway 36 east to the main gate. If traveling north or south on Interstate 295, take the Highway 36 exit and travel west to the main gate. Once you are on Highway 36 continue through the small commercial area. Shortly after leaving the commercial area you will come to a light marking the intersection where Temple Avenue meets Highway 36 and becomes Fort Lee's Sisisky Avenue Gate. If you need a vehicle pass, continue past this intersection for about a mile to the Lee Avenue gate (next stoplight). At the light, take a left and pull into the right lane. The Fort Lee Visitors' Center will be on the right hand side. The Civilian Personnel Advisory Center, Fort Lee, is located on the first floor of Building 12400 (700 Quarters Road). All visitors should park in the designated "CPAC Customer Parking" area located across the street from the entrance to the Job Information Center.
