The bulk of entries currently in this folder were prepared for inclusion on a CD edited by Judy G. Endicott, USAF Active Air Force Wings as of 1 October 1995. Periodically we will be revising the existing entries and adding new ones. We also refer readers to previous printed lineage reference works, especially Charles Ravenstein's Air Force Combat Wings: Lineage and Honors Histories, 1947-1977. The lineages in the entries shown on this site, however, supersede those shown in earlier reference works and publications.
Unless otherwise indicated in the individual entry, information on lineage, assignments, and stations is as of October 1, 1995. Information on aircraft, operations, and honors is through around March 1993, generally the last history available to the compilers during the research phase of the project.
