FACILITATION TRAINING

Applicants: This course is for DON employees who have proven skills and qualities for facilitators. These include experience in public speaking, active listening, managing meetings, dealing with conflict, conducting training, and the ability to act in a neutral, ethical and impartial manner.

Facilitators are not required to be members of the DON Certified Mediator program. (DON Certified Mediators receive 12 CEUs toward their recertification, but must be an applicant as a facilitator to receive this training.)

Applicants may take the training at any of the HRSCs. Coordinate with both of your geographic HRSC ADR Coordinator and the HRSC ADR Coordinator where you wish to take the training to ensure space is available. Travel and per diem is not covered by the DON ADR Program.

The Training: Training will consist of learning facilitation skills to conduct a variety of high performance meetings that support new changes in organizations, increase decision efficiency, are on track and focused, stimulate discussion, and balance participant contributions. The HRSC ADR Coordinator's Office may provide additional training specifics to applicants in their geographic areas.
