ETHICS FOR ATTORNEYS – YOUR DUTY TO ADVISE CLIENTS OF ADR

As you might be aware, the ABA recently amended the official comments to Model Rules of Professional Conduct. Specifically, Comment 5 to Rule 2.1 now states, “It may be necessary under Rule 1.4 to inform the client of forms of dispute resolution that might constitute reasonable alternatives to litigation.” What does this mean for your legal practice? Learn about similar rules in 51 jurisdictions across the country.
