Privacy and Security Notice

  1. Purpose: This is an Official U.S. Government website. The Department of the Navy, Alternative Dispute Resolution Website is provided as a public service by the Office of the General Counsel.

This government computer system uses software programs to create summary statistics, which are used for such purposes as assessing what information is of most and least interest, determining technical design specifications, and identifying system performance or problem areas.

Site Security and Monitoring: For site security purposes and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, this government computer system employs software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage. In addition your IP address (209.237.227.230) is appended to any message that you submit using one of our online forms.

  5. Messages: Messages may be referred to other Government agencies, Department of Defense components, or Department of the Navy activities for reference or action. Answers to messages are not published. We do make an effort to answer messages related to the mission of this organization. However, not all messages will receive a response due to resource limitations. Messages received may be retained. See paragraph 9 regarding destruction of records.

  6. Law Enforcement: Data collected for any of the above purposes may also be used for authorized law enforcement investigations.

  7. Criminal Penalties: Unauthorized attempts to upload information or change information on this service are strictly prohibited and may be punishable under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of 1986 and the National Information Infrastructure Protection Act.

  8. Identification of Users: Except as described in the above paragraphs, no other attempts are made to identify individual users or their usage habits.

  9. Records Retention: Messages sent via our online forms are retained in accordance with National Archives and Records Administration General Schedule 20. Raw data logs are scheduled for regular destruction in accordance with National Archives and Records Administration General Schedule 20.

  10. Cookies: This website does not use cookies.
