Gas Spill Contained, Additional Information

CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. - A gasoline spill today on Camp Pendleton has been contained.

The traffic accident involved a passenger vehicle and a gasoline tanker truck. The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. One person was transported to Mission Hospital in Orange County.

Around 3,000 gallons of JP5 fuel were spilled on Pulgas Road. The Camp Pendleton Fire Department, Environmental Office and San Diego County hazardous materials team were on the scene to help contain and mitigate the event. No casualties were reported. No waterways were affected. The site is being evaluated for potential future mitigation efforts.

The accident is under investigation.
