Entomology Department |
Mission The Entomology Department supports operational forces and shore
installations throughout the AOR. We provide disease-vector and pest control services for
contingencies, as directed by a higher authority. We also conduct pest management program
reviews at shore installations and provide pest control training to shipboard Medical
Department personnel, pesticide applicator recertification training to Preventive Medicine
personnel and civilians and Operational Entomology training to preventive medicine
personnel.
Mosquito
Surveillance Our vision is to protect operating forces from vector-borne disease via direct vector-control support and by implementation of the DoD arthropod repellent program, as established by the Armed Forces Pest Management Board. Further, we are committed to ensuring that pest control, afloat and ashore is conducted safely and effectively.
