FY 2005 Civilian Training & Development  Guide

            
This guide contains all training and development opportunities offered by the Air Force Civilian Career Programs.  It is intended for employees on Career Program Covered Positions,  employees who are eligible for Career Program Positions, and PALACE Acquire and Copper Cap Interns.  (The exception being those individuals interested in applying for Squadron Officer School and Air and Space Basic. ) 

The Civilian Career Management Directorate, HQ AFPC/DPK, is responsible for developing and maintaining this guide.  It is to be used in the Career Enhancement Plan (CEP) survey process, which assists the career programs in projecting their training requirements for the upcoming year.  The survey process starts in March 04 and should be completed by Jun 04.

Hot graphicEffective immediately, Career Program registration is no longer required.   Individuals who aren’t registered may contact the base to pull an individual CEP.  All employees who are eligible to compete for career program positions may now submit a CEP and be eligible for career program training.          

If you do not meet the career program eligibility requirements you should contact your base Civilian Personnel Training Office for developmental opportunities.

Air Force Manual 36-606, Volume 1, 1 July 1995, outlines the management and administration of Civilian Career Programs.

Section Two - The Career Enhancement Plan (CEP) Survey Process

This section contains instructions for the Career Enhancement Plan (CEP) survey process.  The CEP, distributed by  the base Civilian Personnel Training Office, is used  to identify all training requirements in this Guide.  The information is then entered into the Required Training Area (RTA) of the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS), by the installation training function.  Then the bases, MAJCOMs, and Career Programs access the data after 12 Jul 04 to identify training requirements and to perform training budget exercises.

 

Section Three - Tuition Assistance Program

This section provides instructions on tuition assistance for Employees on Career Program Covered Positions and those eligible to complete for Career Program positions.

Section Four - Professional Military Education

This section contains information on the professional military education courses offered to civilians and instructions on nomination procedures.

Section Five - Sponsored Training

This section contains a list of projected management and development courses for the next fiscal/academic year for each career program, and the specific eligibility criteria.

A downloadable version of the Training & Development Guide is no longer available.
