Personnel Center (AFPC) PCS Unit will process your orders.
When can I start the PCS process?
Once you receive official notification from the AFETS program, you
may start the PCS process.
What do I do to begin the PCS orders process?
You will need to complete the
Foreign
or Non-Foreign Cost Estimate
Questionnaire, whichever is appropriate, and a transportation agreement,
DD
Form 1618 for a move to a non-foreign area or DD Form 1617 for a
move to a foreign area. Both forms are available below. Once
you have completed the appropriate questionnaire and transportation agreement,
E-mail them to

How do I know what my allowances/entitlements are?
The Non-Foreign
PCS
Guide or the Foreign
PCS Guide explains your allowances/entitlements as outlined in the Joint Travel

Non-Foreign Areas (Including Alaska, Hawaii,
and Guam):
1. Travel, Per Diem, and Lodging for
yourself and family members
2. Household Goods shipment and temporary
storage
3. Miscellaneous Expense Allowance ($1,000
for family and $500 for single rate)
4. Real Estate Expenses/Unexpired Lease Agreements
Some allowances are discretionary: (May
be authorized by the order-authenticating official. The AFETS
Program authorizes these allowances for AFETS moves.)
1. A house hunting trip
2. Temporary Quarters Subsistence
Expenses (TQSE). If authorized, you must make an irrevocable
decision whether to use the ACTUAL
or FIXED TQSE allowance. See
the appropriate PCS Guide or click on Actual or Fixed in the previous
sentence, for an explanation of the TQSE allowance.
Foreign Area:
1. Travel, Per Diem, and Lodging for
yourself and family members
2. Household Goods shipment and
non-temporary storage
3. Miscellaneous Expense Allowance ($1,000
for family and $500 for single rate)
4. Temporary Quarters
Subsistence Allowance (TQSA): For reimbursement of expenses incurred as
a result of occupying temporary quarters before transfer to an overseas
duty station. 5. Foreign
Transfer Allowance (FTA): A Department of State allowance that
reimburses employees for certain expenses when PCSing to a foreign area.
6. Separate Maintenance Allowance (SMA): Assists you with
the expense of maintaining separate households when your family will not
be joining you at your new duty station. How soon will I receive my orders? The sooner
the PCS Unit
receives a properly completed questionnaire and transportation agreement, the sooner you
will receive your PCS orders and
can begin making arrangements for your PCS move. Normally,
once all
documents are received, it takes
approximately 2-7 calendar days to receive your orders. During peak
times (i.e., summer) it may take up to 7-10 calendar days. |
