The Department of Defense (DoD) and the Secretary of the Navy Hotlines w021212-N-9999K-001 Yokosuka, Japan (Dec. 12, 2002) -- With Japan's famous Mt. Fuji as a backdrop, Strike Fighter Squadron One Ninety Two (VFA-192) is one of the first squadrons commemorating the F/A-18 program’s five millionth flight hour. The Hornet, an all-weather aircraft, is used as an attack aircraft as well as a fighter. In its fighter mode, the F/A-18 is used primarily as a fighter escort and for fleet air defense; in its attack mode, it is used for force projection, interdiction and close and deep air support. VFA-192 is embarked aboard USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63). U.S. Navy photo by Lt. Cmdr. William Koyama. (RELEASED) ere designed to focus efforts to combat fraud, waste, and mismanagement throughout DoD and the Navy.

The Hotline Division will investigate non-criminal, non-frivolous and substantive allegations submitted in a timely manner that violate a rule, regulation, standard or law where no other recourse or process is available related to our mission, as stated above.

Mission:  The Naval Inspector General Hotline Division mission is to provide sound, impartial advice to the Secretary of the Navy, the Chief of Naval Operations, and the Commandant of the Marine Corps.  

We oversee inquiries into matters affecting readiness, integrity, discipline and efficiency.  The Hotlines Division provides a method to receive and investigate reports of fraud, waste, and mismanagement and related improprieties to include the Fraud Remedies Program and military reprisal.
