Missing Persons

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service works closely with the local police departments as well as the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) in investigating the disappearance of any active duty service member or their dependent, when foul play is suspected or suspicious circumstances are present.

NCIS is seeking assistance in locating the following missing persons. If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of any of these people, please contact the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.

Benjamin R Sjoberg

Remarks:HT3 Sjoberg was last seen aboard the U.S.S. Harper's Ferry (LSD-49) at approximately 11 p.m. on October 18, 1996. At that time, the ship reportedly passed between the Hawaiian Islands of Kauai and Niihau, at one point coming as close as 2,000 yards from shore.

Remarks:ENFA Valdovinos was assigned to the U.S.S. Ranier (AOE-7), which is homeported in Bremerton, Washington. Valdovinos was on a ferry ride from Seattle to Bremerton when he disappeared on April 18, 1998, sometime between 4 a.m. and 5:15 a.m. A person matching his description was reportedly seen next by a crewmember of the ferry on its return trip to Seattle later that same morning. There have been no other reports relating to his whereabouts.

Remarks:Kevin McClam disappeared from his home in Goose Creek, S.C. He was last seen playing video games in his home during the early morning hours of March 30, 1997. He has not been seen or heard of since. However, his clothing was found at a nearby construction site.
