Office of Air Traffic Airspace Management

The Air Traffic Airspace Management Division (ATA) is a diverse area of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and is comprised of several areas of speciality as indicated in the Organizational Diagram.

All of these areas of speciality must work together to ensure the United States Air Traffic Control System remains the safest in the world and maintains a focus on the needs of all users. Our task is to recognize users needs and determine the course most beneficial to all and not a single entity.The Airspace Liaison Team (ALT) was formed to focus on this task and facilitate the users needs in the National Airspace System (NAS).

Our vision is maximum efficiency of the NAS. The FAA has the ability within a single organization, all the elements necessary to effectively and efficiently manage the structure of the national airspace. Each of the ATA divisional functions, working together as an integrated team, along with working together with other organizations, agencies and users,will ensure the logical and efficient use of the national airspace.
