Commander, Fleet Activities Chinhae (CFAC) is led by Commander Francis X. Martin. Commander Rusty Hagins, Chief Staff Officer, handles the day-to-day operations of CFAC, and MACS(SW/AW) Bruce O. Girkin is the Senior Enlisted Advisor for the crew.
CFAC, the only US Naval base in Korea, is home to approximately 150 sailors and family members. The base is located on the southern coast of Korea, just 30 minutes from Pusan. Chinhae offers sailors a small-town comfort not found in Korea's larger cities. Spacious base housing and a sense of closeness are only two of reasons Chinhae is the Navy's "best kept secret."

Although Korea's culture is very different than America's, the Western influence is readily apparent in most of the metropolitan areas. Because of this, Sailors assigned here often have the best of both worlds -- they can enjoy a foreign culture, but still experience a touch of home.
