About The Navy Public Works Center
Navy Public Works Center, San Diego is commanded by Captain Michael A. Giorgione, CEC, USN, assisted by Executive Officer, Captain April F. Heinze, CEC, USN and Business Manager, Dr. Donald Chick. The Center employs a work force of approximately 12 naval officers and 1,600 civilians, consisting of some 100 trades. Established as a separate Navy Command on July 1, 1963, the Center provides public works services and products to the Navy community in San Diego, California, including the Marine Air Station at Miramar, the Naval Weapons Station at Concord, and other federal agencies in Oakland.
