CY04B MAJOR LINE OF THE AIR FORCE (LAF) AND BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES CORPS (BSC) SELECTIVE CONTINUATION BOARDS

 

 

AUTHORITY:

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

 

Regular and Reserve majors on the Air Force Active Duty List, who are within 6 years of normal (20-year retirement) as of the first day of the seventh month after PDUSD (P&R) approves results of the CY04B Lt Col LAF and BSC Central Promotion Selection Boards, who fail selection to lieutenant colonel for two or more times and are subject to involuntary separation as a result of their nonselection to lieutenant colonel. 

 

Regular and Reserve majors on the Air Force Active Duty List, who are not within 6 years of normal (20-year retirement) as of the first day of the seventh month after PDUSD (P&R) approves results of the CY04B Lt Col LAF and BSC Central Promotion Selection Boards, who fail selection to lieutenant colonel for two or more times and are subject to involuntary separation as a result of their nonselection to lieutenant colonel, and who fall within the following categories:

 

LAF: 11S (Special Operations Pilot), 34M (Services), 62E (Developmental Engineer), 63A  (Acquisition Manager)

 

BSC: 42E (Optometrist), 42F (Podiatrist), 42P (Clinical Psychologist), 42S (Clinical Social Worker), 43B (Biomedical Scientist), 43H (Public Health), 43P (Pharmacist) 

 

Officers who entered the AF voluntarily under recall initiative or interservice transfer

 

Officers who are serving under an ACP bonus agreement

 

Other officers twice deferred are not eligible for continuation.  

 

SELECTION METHOD:

 

The fully qualified method of selection will be used.   

 

 

SELECTION QUOTAS:

100% of those fully qualified officers who are within 6 years of normal (20-year) retirement eligibility should be continued.  100% of those fully qualified officers who are not within 6 years of normal (20-year) retirement eligibility may be continued.

 

 

LENGTH OF CONTINUATION PERIOD:

 

Eligible majors with less than 18 years Total Active Federal Military Service (TAFMS), as of the first day of the seventh month after PDUSD (P&R) approves results of the CY04B Lt Col LAF and BSC Central Promotion Selection Boards, will be continued to 20 years of TAFMS (retirement). 

 

All majors with at least 18, but less than 20 years TAFMS, as of the first day of the seventh month after PDUSD (P&R) approves the results of the CY04B Lt Col LAF and BSC Central Promotion Selection Boards, will be retained until first eligible for normal (20-year) retirement.
