eligibility criteria for approved and scheduled central selection boards
will be communicated to your local military personnel flights. Criteria
along with other pertinent information are published in Military
Personnel Flight memorandums for each board. Please see your local
Military Personnel Flight for further guidance or instructions. |
Minimum Eligibility Criteria:
1. On active duty list.
2. On extended active duty at least 6 months
immediately before the central selection board’s convening date.
Exceptions are non-line first lieutenants being considered for captain,
Medical
Corps and Dental Corps captains being considered for major,
and officers on active duty under the Voluntary Recall Program or any other
Reserve transfer program (promotions to major thru colonel).
3. You are eligible for promotion if you are
fit to perform the duties of the office or grade as determined by the
Secretary of the Air Force or delegated authority.
4. You are eligible for promotion if you are not on a previous list or previously declined to be
promoted but have not been removed from the list.
5. You are eligible for promotion if, as a first
lieutenant, you have not failed selection for promotion to
captain two times.
6. You are eligible for
promotion consideration if you do not have a date of separation or
retirement within 90 days following the date a board convenes. Individuals
whose application for separation or retirement are approved
after the board convening date regardless of the separation or
retirement date remain eligible for the board. |
