The following SCPDs have recently been updated based on the two-level appraisal rating system.  All duties are designated as critical and absolute performance standards, as needed, have been changed to non-absolute.  Absolute performance standards, standards that allow no room for error, are acceptable only when failure to perform under a critical element would result in loss of life, injury, breach of national security or great monetary loss.  As always, performance standards may be edited locally but must be reviewed to ensure they are in accordance with performance appraisal guidance.  Information concerning writing performance standards can be found at http://www.opm.gov/perform/WPPDF/2002/HANDBOOK.PDF. KSAs have also been updated to reflect no more than 6 KSAs per SCPD.
