 THE AARTS TRANSCRIPT

dot AARTS is a computerized transcript system that produces official transcripts for eligible soldiers upon request by combining a soldier's military education and job experience with descriptions and college credit recommendations developed by the American Council on Education (ACE). In addition to name and SSN, the transcript contains the following information:

  • Current or highest enlisted rank
  • Military status (active or inactive)*
  • Additional Skill Identifiers (ASI) and Skill Qualification identifiers (SQI)
  • Formal military courses
  • Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) held
  • Standardized test scores
  • Descriptions and credit recommendations developed by ACE

dot AARTS receives its data directly from these primary sources:

  • Regular Army biographical data and MOS history - Human Resources Command (HRC)
  • Army National Guard (to include AGR) biographical data and MOS history - Army National Guard Bureau
  • Army Reserve (to include AGR) biographical data and MOS history - Army Reserve Personnel Command (ISA - St. Louis)
  • Formal military course completions - Army Training Requirements and Resources System (ATRRS)
  • Standardized test scores - Educational Testing Service (ETS), American College Testing (ACT) and Excelsior College (ECEP)
  • Course and MOS descriptions and credit recommendations - ACE

dot What is NOT included on the AARTS Transcript:

Awards; partial course completions (you must complete the entire course); college courses (even if paid for by the Army); correspondence courses (unless reported by ATRRS); training and job (MOS) history while enlisted with another service.

*Once you have achieved officer/warrant officer status, you will be considered inactive in the AARTS data base and no further MOS/AOC updates will be made to your AARTS record. Please refer to the alternatives page to find out how to obtain credit for your officer information.  (Please note: This policy is subject to change pending the addition of officer/warrant officer information to the AARTS data base. When that happens, it will be posted on the AARTS eligibility page .)
