NCRR, NIGMS, and DOE Fund "SPEAR3" Synchrotron Radiation Source The SPEAR3 project, located at the Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory, was dedicated on January 29, 2004. Jointly funded by the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Energy, SPEAR3 was called "a light source that will enlarge our ability to see new things with a brightness 100,000 times better than we had before." - January 2004
