Workshop Description:
This introductory workshop for educators will briefly describe the mission
of the Louisiana Map Partnership Office (LMPO), how it originated through
The National Ma p program, who is involved, as well as what resources and
opportunities are available to Louisiana educators. Participants should be
ready for a fast paced fun workshop directed at challenging the student’s
knowledge in many science areas such as water, geography, life science, earthquakes
and other sciences related topics focusing on 6th through 12th grade. Educators
will participate in challenging educational games developed by the USGS as
well as being provided with many teaching aids and references (hard &
soft copy) that include: Internet Web Sites, Posters, Publications, Outreach
Assistance through LMPO, and lesson plans.
