Former North System UsersTitan Disk Storage Rate to Drop in September
Beginning October 1, 2004, the "level 0 disk storage" rate paid by former North system users will drop from $.02 to $.01. This is one of the last steps in the consolidation of the OS/390 North and South systems into the single "standard" system (Titan).
CIT has gradually been reducing the level 0 disk storage rate for users of the old North system to bring it into line with the other Titan disk storage rates. And to do it in a way that has minimized the effect on customers' data storage costs. This gradual reduction for North users was necessary to resolve the differential in disk storage rates resulting from the consolidation of the Parklawn Data Center (North system) and the NIH Computer System (South system). For an explanation of the process used, see the article in Titan News (July 18, 2002).
