NIH Computer Center to Eliminate Inactive USERids
With the increased emphasis on security these days, CIT is reviewing ways to ensure the protection of NIH data from unauthorized access. Since "inactive" USERids can pose a security risk, we are initiating a policy to eliminate USERids identified as inactive. This process will begin with an initial cleanup. Afterwards, CIT will continue to delete inactive USERids on an annual basis.
A USERid is considered active if any of the following conditions exist:
On March 1, 2002, CIT will delete all inactive USERids. At the current time all Titan USERids are considered active, so the initial cleanup will entail South system USERids onlylater this policy will continue on Titan. Web Sponsor on the South system will be modified to allow account sponsors to display inactive USERids before they are deleted.
