Mentors Directory
Looking for a mentor?
The Mentors Directory provides a unique opportunity for deaf and
hard-of-hearing (HoH) individuals interested in careers in research
on hearing, balance, smell, taste, voice, speech or language. The
Directory contains a list of principal investigators of NIDCD Extramural
grants and NIDCD Intramural investigators who are committed to mentoring
deaf and HoH students, postdoctoral fellows and junior scientists.
It is searchable by
- Location/State
- NIDCD research areas (hearing, balance, smell, taste, voice,
speech and language)
- Education level of the mentee
Give us your feedback about the Directory and your mentoring experience.
Inclusion as a mentor in the NIDCD Mentors
Directory is completely voluntary and does not commit an investigator
to provide mentorship to a given individual who contacts him or
her. In addition, a successful mentor-mentee match carries no assurance
of NIDCD funding for the mentee. This initiative is part of an action
plan emerging from a recent NIDCD-sponsored workshop addressing
research career opportunities for deaf individuals.
