Military Sealift Command is the ocean transportation provider for the Department of Defense with the responsibility of providing strategic sealift and ocean transportation for all military forces overseas.

MSC is a U.S. Navy command and is one of three component commands reporting to the joint service U.S. Transportation Command, known as USTRANSCOM.
