The shapefiles provided by the Defense Logistics Information Service (DLIS) are to be used in conjunction with the DLA Map Catalog , produced monthly by DLIS and distributed by the Defense Supply Center - Richmond (DSCR). To receive the DLA Map Catalog on automatic distribution, please contact DSCR at 1.800.826.0342 or visit their web site at http://www.dscr.dla.mil/PC9/.

The Defense Logistics Information Service (DLIS) will offer a free DLA Map Catalog User Conference August 5-6 in San Diego, CA. The DLA Map Catalog User Conference will familiarize beginning users with the catalog, and provide experienced users with tips on performing advanced catalog functions. The DLA Map Catalog can improve both accuracy and efficiency in ordering maps and charts. Make plans to attend the DLA Map Catalog User Conference. Hotel rooms are available at the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel San Diego. Reservation Phone Number: 1-800-233-1234 - Reservation Reference Code: DLA Map Catalog Training Conference. Government discount rate is $137.50/night and per diem is $110.00. A 25% increase in allowance will be required for accommodations at this hotel.

To use the updated shapefiles in the DLA Map Catalog, click on the hyperlink below. This will open your Zip program. All Zip programs are different, but general instructions are as follows: Highlight all files that were included in this Zip file. Click then on "Extract" and place the files in the C:\DLA_Map_Catalog\data\hydro folder. You may be asked if you want to replace the existing files - click "Yes to All" and replace the existing files with the updated shapefiles. Once complete, the Zip program can be closed and the DLA Map Catalog must be re-started. The Catalog will then reflect the current Notice to Mariner changes.
All DLA Map Catalog updates are cumulative, so after downloading and placing the files in the proper directory, your catalog will contain all previous Notice to Mariner changes.
