GUI LOLA is an improved Inquiry Application for ‘Item of Supply’ Inquiry to the FLIS database. The basic difference between GUI LOLA and the existing Mainframe LOLA application, are that GUI LOLA provides users with a ‘Graphical User Interface’ or GUI front-end. The ‘old’ TN3270 screens now look like an actual ‘Windows’ application.

GUI LOLA does not use ‘Function Keys’. All the screens/menus are ‘Point and Click’ friendly. By utilizing ‘Point and Click’ methodology, users should not experience key mapping problems.

The users will still be communicating with the ‘FLIS Mainframe’. They will still be interactively querying the ‘live’ FLIS database. GUI LOLA provides the most current, real-time FLIS data available. It is the same, exact data that our current LOGRUN ‘Mainframe’ customers use; only it is a much easier, user-friendly application.

GUI LOLA provides two (2) primary capabilities including a ‘Multiple NIIN Inquiry’ that is unlimited. The current ‘Mainframe’ application limits the users to 24 NIINs at a time.

GUI LOLA also provides a ‘Multiple Part Number’ or ‘Multiple Partial Part Number’ capability.

GUI LOLA  users may print their output to their ‘Windows’ default printer vs. ‘System Network Printers’. LOLA output may also be saved to a diskette or hard drive.

There is also an option to save their ‘Selected Output Views’ as a ‘Default’. This means that they do not have to select the output options each time they sign on.

Inquiry pick lists of NIINs or Part Numbers may also be ‘Cut and Pasted’ from a spreadsheet or e-mail, directly into the ‘Multiple NIIN Inquiry’ or ‘Multiple Part Number Inquiry’ screens. This option can save the users time for other workload.
