Medical Catalog (MEDCAT) CD-ROM

The MEDICAL CATALOG (MEDCAT) on CD-ROM is designed for all Government and non-Government activities. Access to detailed, descriptive data and pricing information on pharmaceutical and medical/surgical items is provided. The MEDCAT provides logistics information on approximately 60,000 medical and medical related items.

Users are provided several different search capabilities. The main MEDCAT searches FLIS data by Federal Supply Class (FSC), National Item Identification Number (NIIN), Part Number, CAGE Code, Supplier, Item Name, Clear-Text Reply, Acquisition Advice Code (AAC) and Source of Supply (SOS) - either single or combination searches. The CAGE searches by either CAGE Code or Manufacturer. The Service-unique searches include Army Master Data File (AMDF), AMDF Unit Assemblage, Air Force Medical Logistics Office (AFMLO), AFMLO Table of Allowances, and Federal Supply Schedule (FSS). The MEDCAT contains technical information from the Federal Logistics Information System (FLIS) and several Service-unique databases. MEDCAT provides the following technical data: Characteristics, Cross Reference, Management, Serviceability, Set/Component, Supplier Data and Service-unique data elements.

The MEDCAT CD-ROM is published monthly on one disc, which can be installed in either DOS or Windows (16 BIT and 32 BIT). Each product supersedes previous editions, and installation is required each month. The MEDCAT is one disc.
