Caribbean Essential Fish Habitat

This document briefly describes the products developed cooperatively by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administrations (NOAA) National Ocean Service (NOS) and National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), and the Caribbean Fisheries Management Council (Council) to identify Essential Fish Habitat (EFH) in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. These and other products will be used by the Council to amend their fishery management plans in accordance with the EFH requirements of the re-authorized Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Management and Conservation Act (NMFS 1998).
