Research Information

Education:
B.S.F., Louisiana State University, 1979; M.S., Louisiana State University, Forestry, 1981; Ph.D., Mississippi State University, Forestry, 1988
Current Research:
The overall objective is to derive alternative intermediate silvicultural practices that enhance growth and development of hardwood forests on the major river bottoms, minor stream bottoms, and silty uplands. In addition, the research involves studies in stand dynamics to examine the patterns of development of bottomland hardwood stands from intermediate stages of development through harvestable ages.
Collaborative Research:
Current collaborative research involves the use of stand development data to construct growth and yield models, and the effects of silvicultural practices on wildlife habitat and populations. Future collaborative research will involve the effects of silvicultural practices on ecosystem function in forested wetlands.
