Introduction to the Contracting Career Program

Return to CCP Home Page

The Contracting Career Program (CCP) is managed by HQ AFPC/DPKCQ, 555 E Street West Suite 1, Randolph AFB TX 78150-4530.

Purpose: The CCP is a centrally managed Air Force career program established to ensure the professional development of the Contracting work force by hiring, training, developing, retaining, and promoting highly qualified and capable personnel. The program is managed by a PALACE Team, consisting of Personnelists and career employees from the Contracting  community who serve on career enhancing assignments for two to three years.

The team manages and implements the policies of the CCP Policy Council. The Council is comprised of senior Air Force contracting managers and the Director of Civilian Personnel Policy and Personnel Plans, and is chaired by the  Deputy Assistant Secretary (Contracting).

Defense Acquisition University

Students interested in the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) sponsored, mandatory acquisition training to meet the criteria for APDP certification should consult the DAU catalog or contact their local training office for additional information. Students can submit an application for a DAU course via ACQ Now DAU. DAU offers several of their basic acquisition courses via the internet and these courses are open to any interested DOD employee. As Air Force employees you are encouraged to take advantage of these training opportunities, especially the web based ACQ 101 course since it is a prerequisite for many of the other acquisition courses.

Email Notification

The Contracting Career Program office has a email notification. We send messages covering a variety of issues relevant to you and your career. The official name of the email notification system is the List Server. We use the list server as one of the methods to announce CCP-managed vacancies. But, YOU will have to subscribe to the list server.

Subscribers to the CCP list server will automatically receive an email message whenever new information is disseminated. Our current plans are to use the list server for future CCP job vacancy announcements, career broadening opportunities, education and training opportunities, and other CCP related information.
