Introduction to the
Historian and Museum Civilian Career Program

The Historian & Museum Civilian Career Program (HMCCP) is managed by HQ AFPC/DPKCH, 555 E Street West, Suite 1, Randolph AFB TX 78150-4530.

The HMCCP offers career advice, job referral, training, and tuition assistance for all HMCCP eligible employees, and internships for those seeking a career as an Air Force Historian.

The HMCCP Administrator works closely with the Policy Council and the Policy Chair and interacts with the historian and museum work force to meet career management objectives. The Historian & Museum Career Program is one of 20 such programs located at the Air Force Personnel Center, Randolph AFB TX.

Basically, Air Force employees in the GS-0170, GS-1082 (working directly in the history field), GS-1015 and GS-1016 occupational series at grades GS-7 through GS-15 may be eligible to apply for approximately 200 historian & museum positions. This program primarily supports the development of mid- and senior-level managers of historian & museum programs Air Force-wide.
