Introduction to the Instructional
Systems Panel
The Instructional Systems Panel (ISP) is managed
by HQ AFPC/DPKCT, 555 E Street West, Suite 1, Randolph AFB TX 78150-4530.
The ISP primarily supports the training, development,
and placement of mid- and senior level managers in approximately
600 positions supporting USAF training programs. Most of the positions are directly related to the development and
management of over 2,200 courses that provide Air Force enlisted personnel, officers, and
civilians initial skills and follow-on training in such diverse areas as electronics and
weapons system maintenance, civil engineering, security and law enforcement, medical, and
personnel support. This instruction takes the form of resident, exportable, interactive
courseware, or televised distance learning. Most of the courses taught also qualify for
college credit through the Community College of the Air Force.
In general, Air Force employees who are in occupational series GS-1712,
Training Specialist, and GS-1750, Instructional Systems Specialist, series at grades GS-9
and above may compete for promotion and reassignment to the approximately
600
positions managed by the program. Air Force employees currently or previously assigned
in series 1701, 1710, and 1740 who possess appropriate skill codes, and meet grade and education
requirements are also eligible for career program positions.
The PALACE Acquire program offers entry level positions at the 1701-07
level. See the PALACE Acquire Home Page for
application eligibility and procedures.
