Gene Finders

GenScan
Genscan algorithm is based on probabilistic model of gene structure in human genomic sequence, the overall model being similar to generalized HMM. It does not use similarity search to predict genes. Potential genes on both strands are analyzed simultaneously using explicitly double stranded genomic sequence model. It covers cases where input sequence contains no gene, partial gene, complete gene, multiple genes. It does not address alternative splicing.
