Your Employee Assistance Program: The Pentagon Employee Referral Service For many of us balancing the demands of a career, family, school, and personal life is a daily challenge. At times we are faced with events or changes that threaten to disrupt the balance we strive to maintain. We often recover from minor bumps in the road,
but bigger obstacles may leave us bewildered and incapable of coping alone. The Pentagon Employee Referral Service (PERS) can help you reclaim your focus and direct you toward a positive outcome. Our services are confidential and are offered to civilian employees and their dependents at no charge. Qualified mental health
professionals and a courteous administrative staff offer the following assistance: · convenient scheduling of appointments between 8:00AM and 3:00PM, · one-on-one problem assessment, · short-term counseling, · referrals to community resources such as therapists, treatment centers, or support groups as appropriate, · follow-up care, and · crisis intervention. In addition to working with you on an individual basis, we conduct a variety of educational workshops and classes. Some topics of interest include stress management, dealing with difficult people, substance abuse awareness, and coping with grief and loss. We are frequently asked to speak at employee
orientation sessions and offer monthly supervisor training classes. PERS is currently housed within the DiLorenzo TRICARE Health Clinic, located off Corridor 8, near the North Parking entrance.
