Many Marine Geology & Geophysics inventories and databases are fully searchable online. For example, the online version of NGDC's GEODAS geophysical data management system offers searches and free download of digital bathymetric, hydrographic, gravity, and magnetic data available from NGDC and inventory searches of analog and multibeam data.

Online Searches of NGDC's geology inventory provide access to information about all geological data available from NGDC in either analog or digital form. Geology inventory searches provide links to digital data online for download or ordering. The inventory also provides online viewing/download of paper data reports in .pdf form and ordering information for microfilm/slides.
