THE UNITED STATES AIR FORCE MUSEUM VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

If you could look behind the scenes at the Air Force Museum on a typical day, you would see volunteers assisting throughout, from the restoration and photo shop, to most every division and activity. Volunteers represent many professions and come to us from both military and civilian communities. As our "unpaid staff," they join us as we focus on one common goal...

to promote the world's oldest, largest, and best military aviation museum.
Using their varied skills and talents, they help us maintain our "showplace of the USAF" status.

Volunteers travel to the Museum from many directions in Ohio and Indiana on a regular basis. Volunteers perform outreach services by traveling to civic groups in neighboring communities and promoting our Museum. New volunteer opportunities are continually being added to involve our volunteers in a variety of tasks.

Museum volunteers are challenged to work with a high degree of professionalism. They provide visitors with a multitude of information related to USAF heritage through a variety of training. Following an entrance interview, application process and new volunteer orientation, on-the-job training is provided by division personnel. Once active, continuing education is available. Volunteers are updated on current activities via a monthly newsletter plus announcements posted throughout the Museum.

In case you haven't guessed, we would be lost without them!!
