DISA serves as the single senior manager for all Defense Information
System Network (DISN) activities. It translates customers' long-haul
network requirements into effective voice/video/data network
solutions; leverages proven and emerging technologies to ensure
joint interoperability, assured security, and best value; evaluates
technical operation and user mission effectiveness; and resolves
technical support issues for the Department of Defense’s
(DoD) long-haul networks.

(EMSS)
- Satellite-based Personal Communications System providing
voice and low data rate data services from a mobile,
lightweight terminal.

- Provides interoperable dial-up and dedicated subscriber
services for point-to-point and multipoint video teleconferencing.
- Teleport System
- A telecommunications collection and distribution point
providing deployed warfighters with multiband, multimedia,
and worldwide reach-back capabilities to DISN.

- Provides a variety of voice, video and data transport
services for classified and unclassified users.
