Please note: Starting July 21, 2004, there will be a limit on the number of postdoctoral fellowship applications one may submit through this site. Individuals may submit up to ten (10) applications per 12-month period. Each application one submits counts toward his/her total; there is no way to "retract" an application once it is submitted. For these reasons, the NIH Office of Intramural Training and Education (OITE) urges each would-be applicant to be discriminating when choosing to apply for a fellowship.

Most scientists during the period of their career have only a few moments when everything comes together. When there's this extraordinary excitement of understanding, the moment of truly understanding how a disease works, how a biological organism works, how a process occurs. I've had that experience maybe a couple of times in my career. It's an experience beyond virtually all others. Windows Media | Real Player
