Effectively immediately, only Priority 1 applicants will be considered for acceptance into the AWTAP. This action is necessary due to limited availability of FY05 funding. Please continue to watch this page... funding availability changes as current program participants drop out, cancel planned courses, etc. If additional FY05 funding becomes available, we’ll post an announcement, and notify your training representatives. In the meantime, it is suggested that Priority 2 and 3 applicants check with their local training representatives to see if Command funding is available to assist with upcoming coursework. Priority 1: Educational goal is mandatory for certification in your current career field, for Acquisition Professional Community Membership, or to meet contracting officer warrant requirements. Priority 2: Educational goal is desired for certification in your current career field. Priority 3: Educational goal is required for certification in a subsidiary career field. NOTE: Priority 2 workforce members who have already been accepted into the AWTAP will continue to receive funding for the duration of their approved program, presuming that they continue to meet program requirements. 21 May 2004
Effective immediately, AWTAP applicants who are assigned Priority 2 (EDP educational goal "desired" for certification in the applicant's current career field) will be considered as candidates for FY04 funding only. NOTE: Priority 2 workforce members who have already been accepted into the AWTAP will continue to be funded for the remainder of their approved program. If you are approved as "FY04 Only", you will be able to obtain DD 1556's for classes on your approved EDP with start dates in FY04, but you will not be eligible for further centralized AWTAP funding. Your completed application will be maintained in Register-Now for AWTAP and you will be considered for acceptance into the AWTAP (in order of application date) should additional funding become available. The waiting period between acceptance into the AWTAP and eligibility for funding has been reduced from 60 to 14 days. We believe there are sufficient funds remaining in FY04 to support this action and it will enable many of our newer AWTAP participants to receive assistance for their summer courses. 8 Jan 2004
The second AWTAP open season closed on 31 October 2003. We are now accepting AWTAP applications on a rolling admissions basis. You may submit your application at any time and can expect a decision not later than 30 days after supervisor endorsement. Please be aware that funding for EDPs approved after 30 November 2003 will not become available until 60 days AFTER the application is initially approved. In other words, if your application is approved on 15 January, the earliest you could schedule your first class and receive funding for it is 15 March. Please be sure to submit your application with these timelines in mind. 2 Dec 2003
We are pleased to announce that the automated AWTAP funding request process is now available!
