Program Objectives




The DTIC® HBCU/MI program provides access to scientific and technical information products and services to faculty, staff, and students of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI), Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCU) and other Minority Institutions (MI) . The products and services provided are to assist institutions with developing and improving their scientific and technical curriculum and research programs and to strengthen their abilities to compete for federal grants and contracts. Scientific and Technical Information Resources and Products

 


DTIC ® HBCU/MI support enables registrants to obtain technical information products and services.

--Database searching in DTIC's Technical Report  Bibliographic Databases (STINET).

--Private STINET upgrades your access to DoD technical information plus commercial and other databases. This is a free one year renewable registation.

--Electronic Current Awareness Bibliographies (ECAB) and CAB

--TRAIL a current awareness email list

-- DTIC HBCU/MI's compilation of web sites identifies and links to scientific and technical resources, research and development programs, and opportunities.

Goals

Provide HBCU/MI, HSI and TCU institutions with unclassified, unlimited Scientific and Technical Information (STI) documents and database searches.

Establish networks for transferring STI from DTIC to the HBCU/MI, HSI and TCU user community.

Identify HBCU/MI, HSI, and TCU Research and Development (R&D) programs for which DTIC can provide STI products and services.

Conduct seminars at HBCU/MIs, HSIs and TCUs to increase the use of DTIC's products and services.
