Searching DTIC Databases using Private STINET

This three-day, hands-on class covers the content and methods for searching and retrieving scientific and technical information using Private STINET. Private STINET is DTIC's web based access to a variety of unclassified information resources. It is the newly merged system combining the special features and collections of Secure STINET and the ability of searching the Technical Reports Bibliographic Database, Research Summaries Database and Independent Research & Development Database of WED (Web Enabled DROLS). The focus of this course is to explore the information sources available through Private STINET; to develop effective search strategies to retrieve information from DTIC's databases; to provide practical search tips to effectively use the system's unique search features; and provide instruction for ordering documents and electronic bibliographies.
