MCU-2P Protective Mask A member of the U.S. Air Force 51st Security Forces Squadron talks through his MCU-2P chemical/biological protective mask, as he communicates with other team members via radio while conducting a search on Jan. 6, 1999, as part of combat employment readiness exercise Beverly Midnight 99-1, at Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea. The exercise is designed to test people's ability to carry out their wartime tasking, air base ground defense, and ability to recover after attacks. Simulated Decontamination Exercise Role playing victims run under the water spray from a fire truck as part of a decontamination procedure following exposure to a simulated chemical agent during Exercise Cloudy Office held at the Pentagon, May 30, 1998. The Defense Protective Service, in conjunction with the Office of the Secretary of Defense, hosted Exercise Cloudy Office. The first exercise of this magnitude ever held in the national Capital region, it involved more than 500 participants from the Office of the Secretary of Defense, FBI, Arlington County Emergency Medical Services, Metropolitan Medical Strike Team, the Pentagon's TriCare Health Clinic and special Defense Protective Service units. The purpose of Cloudy Office was to exercise force protection responsibilities and to test the response by civilian emergency components to a hostage and barricade situation complicated by the threat of weapons. Pressure Decontamination Washing  

Spc. D. Shewfelt, U.S. Army, uses a pressure washing system to decontaminate an M-3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle, after gunnery training at the Korea Training Center, Republic of Korea, on Oct. 25, 1998.
