Adjudication (Hearings)
Through the Atomic Energy Act, Congress made it possible for the public
to get a full and fair hearing on civilian nuclear matters. The hearing
process is known as "adjudication." Individuals or entities
that are directly affected by any licensing or enforcement action involving
a facility that produces or uses nuclear materials may participate
in a hearing before independent judges on the Atomic
Safety and Licensing Board Panel (ASLBP). The schedule of upcoming
hearings is posted on our Public
Meetings page under the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board Panel.
