Adjudication (Hearings)

Through the Atomic Energy Act, Congress made it possible for the public to get a full and fair hearing on civilian nuclear matters. The hearing process is known as "adjudication." Individuals or entities that are directly affected by any licensing or enforcement action involving a facility that produces or uses nuclear materials may participate in a hearing before independent judges on the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board Panel (ASLBP).
