Peregrine Systems

Manufacturer Overview

Founded in 1981 and headquartered in San Diego, Peregrine (http://www.peregrine.com) provides solutions that enable companies to manage IT infrastructure.

Products Overview

The products of interest to DHHS are Knowlix (knowledgebase), ServiceCenter, AssetCenter, Desktop Inventory (was IDD, now PDI), and Network Discovery (was IND).

Product Description

Knowlix software lets you apply a single search to multiple knowledgebases, treating an entire library of support content as one single volume. Knowlix software searches, sorts, ranks, and displays results rapidly. Knowlix also allows you to build your knowledgebase as part of your daily operation. As new problems are solved, the new knowledge can be immediately submitted to the database, where it can be shared.

ServiceCenter provides lifecycle management of information technology infrastructure. ServiceCenter employs a three-tier client/server architecture that allows for flexibility and customization within a given networked environment. It is capable of managing complex, distributed enterprise environments with platform support for popular client, server, and database platforms.

AssetCenterprovides lifecycle management of all physical, financial and contractual assets. AssetCenter is tightly integrated with Peregrine's Desktop Inventory and Network Discovery tools.

Desktop Inventory and Network Discovery tools provide automated IT inventory capabilities.

Agreement

HHS' agreement with Peregrine provides a 35% discount on named (individual) and floating (shared) licenses. The agreement is serviced by Northrop Grumman Information Technology via the NIH ECS-III contract.
