This section of the web site provides details about the content of federally sponsored medical research projects related to the health of deployed veterans. Veterans, active duty and reserve servicemembers, military families, the medical community and the public now have one location for deployment health research-related projects. The "Research Topics" on the left reflect the non-technical name for the research that was conducted. For example, expect data on neurological disorders to be listed under the topic "Brain and Nervous System." In addition, there are topics listed that you might not see in other medical sources. If the medical research pertains to more than one topic, it will be listed in each. The criteria established for posting research to this section of the site are simple: it must be federally sponsored and it must be deployment related. This section of the site will be updated on a regular basis with updates to the ongoing research and the inclusion of any new research.
