In addition to building expertise in the
principles of knowledge management, DTIC® is exploring the use of
techniques and technologies to manage its organizational knowledge and
to support customers' requirements. Specific efforts include exploration
of portal technology to enhance internal collaboration and knowledge sharing;
investigation of software tools for taxonomy building; the investigation
of siftware tools to support automated indexing; and using knowledge mapping
to determine how information and knowledge are created and flow within
the R&D information domain and to identify information/knowledge gaps.
