HIV Drug Resistance Database

The database is a compilation of mutations in HIV genes that confer resistance to anti-HIV drugs. To begin a search simply fill out the search form and press the "Start Search" button. The resulting list of records that match your search parameters is displayed as a table. The table does not show all the fields for each record (for example, most bibliographic information is not shown). To see a detailed view about a particular record click on the leftmost field (Gene) which is an active link to the detailed view in which all information is displayed.

DISCLAIMER

Simple Search

The Simple Search option allows you to search the database by gene, compound, drug class, and amino acid position only.

Advanced Search

The Advanced Search includes most fields in the database.

Browse

The Browse link displays all the records in the database sorted by gene in genomic order, and within each gene by amino acid position. When browsing you may resort the records any way you chose, such as by drug compound.

ADRA

Antiviral Drug Resistance Analysis. This program analyzes your sequences for mutations known to confer drug resistance and links to the records in the database.

Maps & 3D Proteins

We have begun mapping the mutations in protease and have organized them by compound. Use this map to find your drug and mutation of interest and then click on it to link to that record in the database.

An interface that presents a 3-D image of protease or RT with your choice of amino acid positions highlighted.
