Public Affairs Section

The Mission of the Public Affairs Section in Lagos and Abuja is to improve understanding and inform the Nigerian public on issues of importance. We also wish to enrich the dialogue between American citizens and institutions and their counterparts in Nigeria. We gladly invite you to browse our Home Page to learn more about our services, cultural and educational exchange programs.

From Cultural Affairs Section, please obtain information on American Studies and our other exchange and scholarship programs.  The Information Section provides the press releases we distribute periodically, past speeches by the Ambassador, and other important speeches by U.S. government officials.

We also invite you to learn about the information resources and research services provided by our Information Resource Centers (IRCs). The Democracy and Governance Section has Grant Program which finances activities that support democratic institutions, political pluralism, and the protection and advocacy of human rights in Nigeria. We also provide valuable services for those wishing to Study in the United States. Please visit our Student Advising office.
