The National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) supports a wide range of opportunities for professional training and career development for students, educators, health professionals and research scientists. Research Training Opportunities at NHGRI:

  • Professionals
    College and university biology instructors, counselors, faculty-level investigators, professionals in genetics, physicians and Ph.D. researchers.

  • Graduate & Medical Students
    Graduates with a genetics' degree, graduates with a Master's degree, medical students and graduate level students interested in genetic counseling.

  • Undergraduate Students
    All grade levels of high school students bound for medical school or interested in genetic counseling.

  • High School Students
    Students at least 16 years of age and college-bound seniors.
